What drives the cost
Auto repair shop insurance is priced on your actual risk. The main factors: annual payroll and revenue, number of bays and employees, the services you perform (bodywork, welding, and paint carry different exposure than diagnostics), your claims history, the value of your tools and equipment, and your state. Because these vary so much shop to shop, we don’t publish a single price — a real figure comes from a quote.
What can help your premium
Good housekeeping, documented safety practices, a clean claims history, and appropriate limits can all factor into pricing. Note: risk-reduction steps improve insurability and may reduce premium — they are not a guaranteed discount, and pricing is determined at underwriting.
Getting a real number
The fastest path to an accurate figure is a quote. Tell us about your bays, payroll, and the work you do, and we’ll build it from there. See also what’s covered.
